Mathieu Joseph screams in pain after being hit by Tyler Toffoli.
That can't be good.
Oh boy this one sounded awful.
On Sunday night, during a game between the Ottawa Senators and Calgary Flames, Senators forward Mathieu Joseph appears to have suffered a significant injury.
The injury occurred when Joseph and Flames forward Tyler Toffoli were both racing for the puck, resulting in Toffoli delivering something of an awkward hit to Joseph. It was immediately obvious that something was wrong here given the very audible scream of pain that came from Joseph, seemingly from the very moment contact was made.
Not only did Joseph scream in agony, but he also punched the boards in frustration which to me signaled that he felt something very wrong in his body.
There's been no official update on his status, but the injury appears to be to his left leg. As he skated off the ice, Joseph appeared to be putting all of his weight on the right leg and hobbling quite badly with his left.
