Martin Fehervary believes Sidney Crosby hates him.
The Washington Capitals defenseman believes that the captain of the Penguins doesn't like him very much.
If you ask around the hockey world about Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby you would quickly learn that not only is Crosby considered to be among the best hockey players on the planet, but he's also considered to be a pretty nice guy all around.
That's why when Washington Capitals defenseman Martin Fehervary recently made some comments about the captain of the Penguins it caused a few ears to perk up. In a recent interview Fehervary revealed his genuine belief that he is hated by Crosby.
"I think he does [hate me] a little bit, I guess," said Fehervary as per The Hockey News.
The Penguins and the Capitals are of course bitter rivals and have been almost from the time that both Sidney Crosby and Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin entered the league. Fehervary though believes his recent interactions with the star forward may have earned him the honor of being Crosby's biggest rival now.
"Every game we had something going on," Fehervary added.
Fehervary may have a point as there have been some rough interactions between the two men, including this incident in which Crosby tossed Fehervary into the boards in uncharacteristic fashion.
In spite of all that, Fehervary remains determined to be a player that his opponents do not like facing on the opposite side of the ice.
"I think that type of my role; I always like to be that type of player really being hard to play against," said Fehervary. "I just like it, you know, to be that type of player always trying to be really hard on my opponent.”
