Marshawn Lynch becomes part owner of the Kraken, takes Zamboni for a joy ride.

The Seattle Kraken introduced a pair of celebrity minority owners on Monday when they announced that musical artist Macklemore and former National Football League star running back Marshawn Lynch would be joining the organization as minority owners.

Lynch expressed that he felt blessed to be the minority owner of a professional sports franchise before the age of 35, but perhaps that had more than a little to do with some of the perks that come with being a minority owner of the team. The NFL star quickly took advantage of some of the perks and went for something of a joy ride on the Zamboni after buying into the team, something that he clearly enjoyed very much.

Lynch was given the chance to drive the Zamboni around the ice and he did just that, even doing a few donuts on the ice much to his amusement. You could tell by the smile on his face that he was loving every second of it. Perhaps we might see Lynch appear as an honorary Zamboni driver during a Kraken game in the not too distant future?

Now the video that the Kraken put out that shows Lynch having a good time was one thing, the actual video of the event itself however is even better. Thanks to Brian Cobb, who was on hand during Lynch's joy ride, we can now share that video with you. Lynch even takes off his hat and waives it around like something of a cowboy on ice.

At the end of the day this can only be a good thing for the Seattle Kraken and by extension the National Hockey League. The reality is that the National Football League eclipses the NHL in terms of popularity in the United States of America and having a high profile name like Lynch linked to an NHL franchise could serve to bring more eyeballs to what the Kraken have going on. This could also attract other professional football players to come and invest money into the sport of hockey and the NHL.
