You never want to see a beloved athlete such as Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury struggle to the extent that he has to begin the 2022-23 NHL Season. Of course, the Wild stumbled out of the gate, allowing a barrage of goals in extremely uncharacteristic fashion. And Fleury's goals against average took an absolute beating, north of a ghastly 6.00.
But being the veteran that he is, there's little doubt that Fleury will be able to get back on the right track of things. And tonight in his native Quebec against his boyhood team in the Montreal Canadiens, he officially passed NHL Hall of Fame goaltender Curtis Joseph in total games played with 934:
He's also got a bit of his trademark swagger back, robbing Canadiens forward Mike Hoffman on a 3rd period penalty shot and then giving him the business afterward:
