Ah, the savvy veteran against the highly-touted rookie.
Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury absolutely clowned Chicago Blackhawks rookie forward Connor Bedard during last night's game at United Center, waiting him out in the shootout and then tripping him down to the ice as if to say, "Welcome to the show, kid!"
But being the good guy that he is, Fleury gave Bedard a little stick tap afterward.
Fleury has been at this job in the National Hockey League for longer than Bedard has been alive! As you may remember, Fleury was also a 1st overall draft selection. He was taken by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2003, and subsequently began his career that season 20 years ago.
Meanwhile, Bedard is only 18 years of age, and wasn't even born when the Penguins drafted Fleury's former Pittsburgh teammate in Sidney Crosby.
Bedard will have many highlights in his upcoming career, but that wasn't one of them!
