Major disappointment in Penguins’ post about Sidney Crosby

The feeling out there in the NHL universe is that captain Sidney Crosby, who turns 37 years old today, will sign a contract extension with the Pittsburgh Penguins as part of his celebrations. Penguins insider Mark Madden of 105.9 The X and TribLive reported on Tuesday hat sources have indicated to him that a Crosby contract extension could be announced on Crosby’s birthday, and if that if it isn’t the case, fans should be worried about Sid’s future with the franchise.
This morning, the Penguins themselves made a post on social, including X, formerly known as Twitter, and fans were quickly disappointed by its content. The Pens wished Crosby a happy birthday, with no mention of a. new deal, which team insider Josh Yohe pointed out was a major disappointment or even a tease from the Penguins.
Personally, I can’t see Crosby or the Penguins ever walking away from each other. The Penguins have committed to taking a run at the Stanley Cup playoffs so long as Crosby is in the fold.
I say let’s be patient and wait until the birthday boy, and very superstitious player, makes the call on this pending contract extension in Pittsburgh.
