The Tampa Bay Lightning stunned the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden in Game 5 on Thursday night as Ondrej Palat potted the game-winner with less than two minutes remaining to secure a 3-2 series lead for Tampa heading back home.

But the scene we’re about to show you in shocking.

After the game, frustration build up amongst Rangers fans when one of them savagely attacked a Lightning fan who was celebrating behind him on his way out of MSG.

The Rangers fan turned around and served him one dirty sucker punch on the side of the head as the Bolts’ fan never had a chance to protect himself. He collapsed to the ground as his assailant fled the scene. Dirty assault!

Other Rangers’ fans immediately came to the Bolts’ fan’s aid. The victim eventually regained consciousness, witnesses say five minutes after the incident.

What a coward.

Here is the scene:

It was later confirmed that the perpetrator was arrested and charged. "James Anastasio, 29 of Staten Island, was ARRESTED and charged with 2 counts of assault, 2 counts of disorderly conduct, and 2 counts of harassment"

Per Evan Axelbank of Fox 13, Anastasio was arrested and charged with 2 counts of assault, 2 counts of disorderly conduct, and 2 counts of harassment”. That’s because, per WTSP 10 Tampa Bay, he reportedly assaulted a witness who attempted to stop him in order to get an arrest done. According to the officers, the witness “sustained pain and bruises on his face”, but did not undergo medical treatment.
