Kyle MacLean scores his first NHL goal with his Dad on the bench!
What a moment in Toronto this evening!

A lot of NHLers grew up learning the game from their father, often times playing with their father on the bench as head coach or assistant coach. But as these players move up through the ranks, Ol' Dad usually takes a back seat to more experienced coaches. I know that was the case with myself both as a child and now as the Father of hockey kids.
But in recent seasons there have been rare instances of NHL players and coaches crossing paths in the NHL, with the latest example being New York Islanders forward Kyle MacLean and Islanders assistant coach. The pair have been factored into five games with the Islanders this season during the junior MacLean's most recent call up from the AHL and tonight Kyle managed to score his first NHL goal... all with Dad smiling on the bench.
Check out this incredible moment:
That's what it's all about right there.
Doesn't matter if it's in the NHL or on Sunday "C" League... scoring a goal in front of Dad and getting a 'Good Job'! is what it's all about.
