Kyle Dubas takes a subtle jab at the City of Toronto.

Former Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas has ruffled more than a few feathers during his exit from Toronto and subsequent hiring as president of hockey operations for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and that trend continued this week when some took exception to recent comments from Dubas.

During a recent interview Dubas compared his time in Toronto to his time in Pittsburgh and, as you might expect given his current role, he was very flattering of the City of Pittsburgh which wasn't so much the case when it came time to talk about Toronto. Dubas described Pittsburgh as being more of what he was accustomed to, and as a result he made it clear he felt more comfortable there than he had in his many years in Toronto.

"It’s a great city. But here (Pittsburgh) feels like home.”" said Dubas when comparing the two cities.

Dubas also praised the citizens of Pittsburgh for their kindness, while noting that it was easy because he hadn't lost any games yet, and thanked them for the way they have treated his family.

"The thing that's really impressed me has just been the quality of the people here and frankly, how comfortable it's been in the city," said Dubas. "Not just for me, but my family too."

Not everyone was happy with the comparison and some were quick to point out that Dubas' exit from the Maple Leafs organization has been less than gracious.

Dubas' comments may not have pleased everyone in Toronto, but it's worth noting that his job and his focus are no longer in Toronto and have shifted to the City of Pittsburgh and their Pittsburgh Penguins.
