Juraj Slafkovsky tries his luck at kayaking... goes swimming.

The Montreal Canadiens first overall pick was trying out a new hobby over the summer and ended up soaked from head to toe.

The National Hockey League offseason is in full swing and that means that NHL players are out and about, having a lot more fun that they typically do during the course of the season.

One player definitely soaking in the summer, pun intended, is Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky. Slafkovsky decided to try out a new hobby recently, the sport of kayaking, but he did so as a total amateur to the sport and may have bit off a little more than he could chew in his first attempt.

The first overall pick at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft spoke with Slovakian hockey insider Tomas Prokop about his experience with the kayak and Slafkovsky admitted that he may have overdone it a little right out of the gate.

"It was nice, but I underestimated it and it ended up with me getting soaked," said Slafkovsky with a laugh.

The Slovakian forward also admitted that it gave him a new found respect for those that do practice the sport at a high level, indicating that he believes it to be quite challenging.

"But it was a change of pace. It was challenging to balance, and you gain respect for canoeists, seeing how they control it, especially in wild water," he admitted. "You start off, and the water carries you to the other side; it's not easy at all. It's a difficult sport."

The best part though was that Prokop was able to share some images from Slafkovsky's kayaking adventures, including the moment where the Habs forward went overboard and took a dunk in the water. You can see those images just below:
