Josh Manson wants nothing to do with the Maple Leafs...

That backfired for Toronto!

It’s no secret that the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking improve their team ahead of the trade deadline and Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported that that the Leafs “are believed” to have interest in Josh Manson of the Anaheim Might Ducks on Hockey Night in Canada this past weekend.

Manson’s name has been mentioned a trade chatter a few times and it’s no surprise that the Maple Leafs are interested: he is a right-handed pending UFA defenseman who is very physical.

However on Friday on the air of the 32 Thoughts podcast, Friedman revealed that Manson is not interested in coming to Toronto.

“Somebody told me that Toronto is on Manson’s no trade list. That doesn’t mean that it can’t happen, that just means you have to…if you really wanna do it, you’ve gotta work it a bit.”

It sounds like Manson does not want to be moved to the Maple Leafs and with his clause and his submitted 12-team no trade list with Toronto’s name on it, you have to imagine GM Kyle Dubas might have to look elsewhere.

Some fans in Toronto will however say that it’s not a bad thing. Manson, who has spent his entire career with the Ducks, has collected just three goals and seven points in 43 games this season.

He once had a 37 point season, but his offensive game has gone down and maybe it’s a good thing for the Leafs that Manson is not looking to come to Toronto in a trade.
