On the latest episode of his wildly popular hockey podcast 'Droppin' the Gloves', former NHL tough guy John Scott may have dropped a hint about a possible NHL comeback.
While pontificating on the state of the NHL offseason and his own schedule, Scott dropped a big hint that he may be joining the San Jose Sharks... at least in some capacity.
From Scott's most recent episode:
You know where else you might see us? San Jose fans, keep an eye out for this. Should I mention it? It might not be public. I shouldn't say it yet. I am going to save it, but keep an eye out in San Jose for me.
- John Scott
There's no way he's planning an NHL come back as a player, right?
The guy is 41 years old and was effectively driven out of the league nearly a decade ago. There's no way he can crack an NHL roster, even the Sharks with how bad they've been in recent seasons.
What seems more likely to me is that Scott joins the team in a coaching or executive role. There's also a chance that he's simply partnering with the team for some sort of promotion. To be perfectly honest, all we can do is speculate as to what exactly Scott might be hinting at. Stay tuned.
