Jeff Marek announces return following controversial departure from Sportsnet!

The long-time host and analyst shared some terrific news on Friday evening.

Earlier this summer, fans found out that Sportsnet unceremoniously dumped long-time host and analyst Jeff Marek after it was reported that former host had leaked information of players from the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Marek has shared a message earlier this offseason confirming that he’s no longer with Sportsnet and that he’s pursuing new opportunities.

“After 13 great years at Sportsnet, I’m moving on. It’s been an incredible journey and I’m thankful to have worked alongside so many great people and played a role in bringing sports and hockey news to fans across Canada and the world. More to come soon.”

And it looks like fans have been waiting long enough. On Friday evening, Marek once again took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post a GIF of the wrestler The Undertaker rising from the dead, meaning Marek is finally coming back in some shape or form in the hockey world.

In his post, Marek does not provide any additional details on where he could be heading, or if he will be back on TV and on a podcast. I guess we will find out more shortly as Marek is more than likely to make the announcement on his social media.

Hours later, Marek added a post, one that only said: "So, how was your summer?
Mine was pretty quiet."

More to come on this developing story.
