Jacob Trouba receives multi-game suspension for elbowing.
Jacob Trouba has been suspended by the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety.
The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety is coming down hard on New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba.
On Saturday, the disciplinary arm of the NHL announced that Trouba would face a hearing for elbowing Vegas Golden Knights forward Pavel Dorofeyev. Trouba was not called for a penalty on the play, but in spite of the officials on the ice missing the transgression, the eye in the sky did not.
In a video released by the NHL on Saturday afternoon, the league outlines their decision to suspend Trouba for 2 games, knocking him out of the lineup until this coming Wednesday when the Rangers will face the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In the video, Trouba can clearly be seen delivering an elbow to the head of an unsuspecting Dorofeyev, a decision that will now cost his team over the next 2 games.
