J.T. Miller addresses the Elias Pettersson drama head on.

Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller addresses the major controversy in the Canucks locker room.

The rift between Vancouver Canucks forwards J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson has dominated headlines around the National Hockey League over the last few weeks, especially in the city of Vancouver.

Over the weekend Pettersson did a rather unconvincing job of downplaying the major controversy that has seemingly taken over the Canucks locker room, but the same can't be said when it comes to Miller. On Sunday, Miller spoke to members of the media and made it clear that, from his perspective at least, the drama has been way overblown and that the perceived issues between the two players simply isn't real.

"You guys in a sense have created this sing," said Miller addressing the reporters in a media scrum. "This isn't a thing, so am I bothered? No. You guys are just wasting your time."

Miller was then asked if he was frustrated about all the questions he was getting on the topic and he had a rather hilarious answer for the media, all the while completely shutting down any talk of a rift between him and Pettersson.

"I don't care," said Miller. "You guys wanna talk about it ask me all you want. I can bring out Petey and we can do the interview together if that will make you guys happy."

In fact if anything Miller vocally placed the blame on his own performance on the ice, indicating to reporters that he had much bigger concerns than any potential drama regarding Elias Pettersson.

"Listen I have a lot of stuff to worry about right now for myself," said Miller bluntly. "I'm not worried about any noise, the noise is between my ears, I'm trying to figure out how to play a good 200 foot game for the team."

In my estimation Miller did a much more convincing job of downplaying the major controversy that has surrounded the Canucks in recent weeks than Pettersson, so good in fact that it may have actually calmed the waters at least for the time being.
