Ilya Samsonov shares graphic details about his absence this weekend.

Gross.

Maybe it's just the child in me, but I laughed way harder at this post-game interview from Ilya Samsonov than I ever could have imagined I would.

Following a tough loss to the lowly Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday night, the Maple Leafs goaltender faced the media after what was admittedly a less than stellar performance on his part. Samsonov allowed 4 goals on the 31 shots he faced during the game for a .852 save percentage, but much of that has to be mitigated by the fact that Samsonov was clearly not playing at 100%.

The Leafs netminder was forced to miss practice on Friday due to an illness that had sidelined him, and it was serious enough that it also kept him out of Saturday's game against the Montreal Canadiens. Although Samsonov would end up playing on Sunday it was obvious based on his comments after the game that he was still feeling ill.

In fact Samsonov would go into graphic detail about how hard his day had been.

"I got some cough right now and stomach is sick," said Samsonov following the loss to the Blackhawks. "It's not great. It's hard day on the sh**ter."

Thankfully Samsonov will have some additional time to recover before the Leafs play again on Tuesday, when they will face the Buffalo Sabres, and hopefully that will prove to be enough time for his stomach to settle down.
