Gut-wrenching statement from Isaiah Meyer-Crothers on what Mitchell Miller did to him

He also explains how Miller attempted to apologize:

I feel like Isaiah Meyer-Crothers didn’t need to be shoved in the spotlight again. But he was when the Boston Bruins signed his abuser Mitchell Miller to an entry-level contract last week, and cut ties with two days later in the wake of public outrage.

On Wednesday morning, the Hockey Diversity Alliance (HDA) headed up by former NHLer Akim Aliu released a statement from Meyer-Crothers, who wanted to share what Miller did to him in the past and his attempt at apologizing and getting help.

When Meyer-Crothers demanded proof that Miller was indeed getting counselling to redeem himself and making sure he would never make those mistakes again, the defenseman could provide any evidence.

As the Hockey Diversity Alliance points out, this is a tough read, but a necessary one. This is what Meyer-Crothers had to say:

Miller was found delinquent in Ohio court on charges of assault and found guilty of bullying Meyer-Crothers, a disabled African-American classmate. The real problem though, from my perspective, is that Miller doesn’t appear to have shown any true remorse for his actions. He has filed a court-ordered apology and has completed his court-ordered community service, but the Meyer-Crothers family maintains that they have never received an apology and that Miller is not remorseful in the least. Miller’s agent provided a list of non-profit initiatives that Miller has volunteered his time with, but most if not all of those organizations have refuted the agent’s claims.

This is just sad to read about this poor man, and how he still struggled with what Miller did to him.
