Health update on Sabres owner Kim Pegula released
The latest update on her health has been released.
Buffalo Sabres co-owner Kim Pegula was announced to have been undergoing treatment earlier this month for an unspecified illness, and today, a statement was released by the Pegula family in which they detail that she is “progressing well” and “rehabilitating from a health issue.”
"Kim is progressing well and is resting and rehabilitating from a health issue," the statement read. "We are grateful for the medical professionals providing her care and to everyone for their prayers and well wishes. We ask that you please continue to respect our need for privacy during this time."
Pegula, who is the president and CEO of Pegula Sports and Entertainment, also co-owns the NFL's Buffalo Bills with her husband Terry; they bought the Bills in 2014 after having bought the Sabres in 2011. She is also the first female president of both an NFL and NHL team.
Earlier in the month, the Pegula family released a statement indicating that she has been “receiving medical care as a result of some unexpected health issues. We are very grateful for the progress she has made over the past few days. She has an exceptional team of medical experts at her side.”
Bills quarterback Josh Allen said earlier in the month that reports of Pegula's health issues came as a surprise to the team, and requested prayers for her well-being.
"We're all praying for them, and we appreciate everyone in the community praying for them as well," Allen said. "She's done so much for our organization, and we all love her so much. Again, as a team we're saying our prayers, and we just ask that you guys do the same for us, please."
