Midway through the first period of tonight's testy game between the Minnesota Wild and Calgary Flames and things are escalating quickly!
Wild forward Ryan Hartman has earned himself a double minor and a possible suspension from NHL Player Safety after absolutely tomahawking Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson and then punching forward Trevor Lewis in the same altercation.

Look, I love Hartman as a player but this is some serious dumb dumb stuff here. He's likely looking at a game, maybe even two for the slash on Andersson. If Andersson is injured on the play I suspect the punishment may be even greater. Stay tuned.
