The Detroit Red Wings lost more than just on the ice on Tuesday night at Little Caesars Arena. They also lost captain Dylan Larkin, who blocked a shot and would not return to action.
As you're no doubt well aware, forward Tyler Bertuzzi has suffered a broken hand not once but twice already this season, both instances coming from having blocked a shot. And while there's been no official update as to Larkin's condition, his ailment was significant enough for head coach Derek Lalonde to declare immediately following the game that he was going to be unavailable for tonight's game against the Minnesota Wild.
The Red Wings will be forced to bring up another player from the American Hockey League affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins.
