Goalie fight breaks out with 2.7 seconds left in the game!
There was almost no time left on the clock, but these two goalies wanted a piece of each other.
Well this was a wild one to be sure.
On Sunday, all hell broke loose in the ECHL when a pair of goaltenders decided that they were gonna fight in spite of the fact that there was basically no time left on the clock.
The fight occurred between former Montreal Canadiens prospect Michael McNiven who currently plays for the ECHL's Savannah Ghost Pirates and goaltender Cam Johnson of the Florida Everblades and it was a pretty spirited affair. Although it is incredibly difficult to fight with a giant amount of goaltending equipment on top of your body, both of these men clearly gave it their all.
In spite of the fact that there were just 2.7 seconds left on the clock the officials let this one go for nearly 30 seconds as both men tried to swing wildly at one another in spite of their equipment. Johnson would eventually drag McNiven down to the ice putting an end to the exchange.
