Goalie fight at center ice after all hell breaks loose.
Things turned ugly between the Regina Pats and the Moose Jaw Warriors and it resulted in a goalie fight at center ice.
What a scene in the Western Hockey League.
Things turned ugly between the Regina Pats and Moose Jaw Warriors during a recent matchup between the two teams that saw the Warriors clearly outclassing the Pats. The Warriors had a commanding 9-1 lead in the game's third period when all hell seemingly broke loose.
Not only were the players involved in a melee behind the net, but we would eventually get a goalie fight at center ice between Jackson Unger of the Moose Jaw Warriors and Kelton Pyne of the Regina Pats. As it turns out it was a pretty good scrap, especially when you consider the mountains of equipment these two men had to contend with during this exchange.
Both men would go back and forth but it does seem like Unger was getting the better of his opponent, a tough pill to swallow for Pyne who took a beating on both the scoreboard and at center ice in his fight with Unger. Although there will be no official winner declared, Unger's body language spoke volumes as he made a gesture of putting a belt around his waist, clearly signaling that he feels he is the champ this time around.
