The Anaheim Ducks snapped their three-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres as they came out fighting. Literally.

They had so since, in the last thirty seconds of the game, the Sabres got fiesty and tempers flared with almost everyone getting involved. The goalies stayed put: Ducks netminder John Gibson had first row seats to the brawl that broke out behind his net.

As soon as Gibson stops the puck, a scrum gathers behind him and then punches are thrown. You can see Sabres captain Kyle Okposo, who always loves a good fight, attempting to break the brawl apart while his teammate Owen Power, the towering 6 foot 6 defenseman, can be seen over everyone in a fight that quicky gets out of hand.

Officials did their best to separate the players, but, as you’ll be able to see here below, tempers were too hot and punches needed to be thrown.

Here is what happened in the last seconds of the game and ended up with many penalties. Peyton Krebs was penalized for interference on Gibson, while Ducks’ Mason McTavish received a roughing minor against him. He was also given a game misconduct, while Krebs got a roughing penalty and a misconduct as well. Okposo, Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick, all very fiesty in the brawl, were also handed game misconduct for their parts in the line brawl.

The game might have started off as a family affair, but certainly did not end this way. Ducks assistant coaches Craig Johnson and Brent Thompson both game-planned for the first time against their sons, Sabres rookie defenseman Ryan Johnson and center Tage Thompson . Ryan Johnson was born and raised in Orange County during the time his father played for the Los Angeles Kings.

The Ducks, who also ended a six-game slide at home since December, will be back in action on Thursday night against the Stars in Dallas, while the Sabres moved on to the Kings in Los Angeles later today.
