Four players land on waivers on Wednesday!
Four players from four different teams get the wire going ahead of the Holiday Freeze. Get all of the details below:
On Wednesday, four players were placed on waivers, including Colorado Avalanche’s Tye Felhaber, Nashville Predators’ Marc Del Gaizo, New York Islanders’ Grant Hutton and Winnipeg Jets’ Dylan Coghlan.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman was first to break down the waivers report on Wednesday.
Tye Felhaber just recently signed a contract with the Avalanche for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. This is a two-way deal worth $1.55 Million ($775,000 AAV). He made his NHL debut on Monday, skating for 4:34 as Colorado fell 3-1 to the Vancouver Canucks.
Marc Del Gaizo was too recently signed by Nashville, prior to the start of the 2024-25. He was called up as the Predators were dealt many injuries and ended up fighting New York Rangers’ Will Cuylle last night.
In New York, Hutton has two assists in 12 outings this season. He was a healthy scratch for the Isles’ past three games. This waiver move is in oder to send Hutton back to the AHL in Bridgeport to get him more ice time.
As for Coghlan, he has only played one game for Winnipeg this season and did perform well. He is being placed on waivers in order to get a veteran blue liner to the AHL team in Manitoba to get more stability.
All four players are expected to clear and be re-assigned down the minors before tomorrow's deadline at 2ETpm.
