Former Bruin Milan Lucic rumored to be returning to Boston.

There are rumors suggesting that the big bad former Boston Bruin is heading back to where it all started.

The Boston Bruins may be in for something of a reunion.

Although there has been nothing official announced as of yet, with free agency only set to open up at noon today, there are now very loud rumors suggesting that veteran forward Milan Lucic will be headed back to Boston.

On Saturday morning, National Hockey League insider Pierre LeBrun reported that he believes Lucic will in fact land in Boston as the rumors have suggested. LeBrun cautions that no deal has been signed as of yet, with the two parties needing to sit down after free agency opens up later today, but he does believe it will get done.

Lucic of course began his career as a member of the Boston Bruins and I think you could argue that he was his most effective as a punishing forward with that organization. Although Lucic would earn big money as a free agent after departing the Bruins his stints with both the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers are largely considered to be underwhelming, especially for the amount of money that was involved.

Lucic will of course have to take a massive pay cut from the average annual value and salary cap hit of $6 million he earned on his last deal, but no word yet on just how big of a discount he will be willing to give the Bruins in order to rejoin his former team.
