Fans stun social media by wishing death on Don Cherry
Regardless of your view, this is not a good look.

Don Cherry remains one of the most polarizing figures in hockey circles today. Known for his fierce Canadian patriotism and brash outspokenness, the man known as "Grapes" carved out a career in the NHL as a brief-one time player followed by leading the Boston Bruins as head coach.
To most modern audiences, he was known as the colorfully-dressed and longtime co-host of Hockey Night in Canada, where he would never shy away from speaking his true opinion on just about anything. Whether you liked or didn't like his viewpoints, there were few that didn't respect the fact that he spoke his mind regardless of what anyone thought.
And as always, there were plenty of those who disagreed with Cherry's views to the point that they wouldn't mind to see news of his demise. While Cherry is still alive and well, there were more than a few social media users who took the time to lament that the fact that he was trending on X (formerly known as Twitter) didn't mean that he had passed away.
Have a little more class than that, folks. You don't have to like Don Cherry or his views, but openly wishing that someone is dead simply for different opinions just isn't okay.
