Evander Kane's estranged wife claims he won't be signing with Oilers
Kane is headed back down south according to Anna Kane.

We're less than 24 hours away from the opening of NHL free agency and we still don't know what the future holds for Evander Kane. Multiple NHL insiders have reported today that the Edmonton Oilers have tendered a long-term deal to Kane, but with the clock ticking and with free agency on tomorrow's horizon, you have to think time may have run out for the Oilers.
If Kane does indeed go to the open market there will be no shortage of teams interested in him, despite his off-ice baggage. It's no secret, of course, that Kane is undergoing a messy divorce with his estranged wife Anna Kane, while simultaneously undergoing bankruptcy proceedings and an arbitration heading with his former team the San Jose Sharks. To put things bluntly... there's a lot of drama in Kane's life. But, again, despite all this he'll have plenty of suitors if he makes it to free agency.
Kane's estranged wife Anna however reports that Evander will NOT be signing with the Oilers and is "signing in LA", presumably with the Los Angeles Kings? Honestly... it's not clear what Kane is exactly trying to say in her latest rambling Instagram post.
Check it out:
He's signing in LA because he knows "he can lie over and over... in court"? Huh? That's not how the courts work...
In any case, it's worth noting that none of the allegations that Anna has levied against Evander have ever been found to be true, including allegations of illegal gambling on his own NHL games. I believe Anna when she says she's the victim of domestic abuse by Evander, but again it's worth noting that none of her allegations have ever been proven. Suffice it to say, she's not exactly a credible source of information.
Now, all that aside I could see Kane returning to California but probably not with the Sharks of the Kings. The Anaheim Ducks have plenty of cap space available, but they're headed into what looks like a lengthy rebuild so I can't imagine that Kane would be interested in that. Rather, I see him re-upping with the Oilers or heading to another Stanley Cup contender. Stay tuned.
