The O-Dog is on Kaner's hit list!

In case you missed it, there are multiple insider reports online today that Evander Kane will indeed join the Edmonton Oilers. While the deal won't be official until tomorrow, multiple NHL insiders have reported that Kane has indeed agreed to a prorated $2 million annual deal for one year.

Check it out:

These reports all came out prior to the NHL concluded its investigation that Kane allegedly violated the league's COVID-19 protocol for the second time this season. However, the NHL just issued its ruling stating essentially that did nothing wrong and will face no punishment.

Now Kane is doing damage control ahead of officially joining the Oilers and sat down with TSN's Kayla Grey for an exclusive interview in which he clears up exactly what happened that ended his time with the San Jose Sharks.

In this wide ranging interview Kane admits to making several mistakes over the years and also addresses many of the rumors that have followed him around this season specifically. Unfortunately, he doesn't really offer up as much insight into what happened behind the scenes as most hockey fans would like. Frankly, he kinda of plays the "I can't comment on that" card a bit much.

One interesting bit that stood out to me though was when Kane personally called out TSN analyst Jeff O'Neill for comments that O'Neil made about Kane's relationship with his daughter.

Check it out:

"The other day I'm listening to a radio show... it's Jeff O'Neill talking and he says soemthing about me in a negative way... and he follows it up with, 'he just needs to focus on having a better relationship with his daughter.' And like... infuriated would be an understatement when I heard that. Infuriated. Because, you're literally making a judgement about my relationship with my daughter and trying to use that in a negative way to portray me... that's ridiculous. That's crossing the line. That's... I wish Jeff played in the NHL right now. That's how mad I was."

Look... I'm not the biggest Evander Kane fan in the world, but I can 100% get behind him on this. O'Neill crossed a line. Period.

The fact of the matter is that O'Neill has no idea what kind of relationship Kane has with his daughter and even if he did, it's not his place to comment on it. It's made even worse by the fact that O'Neill broadcasted his opinion out to thousands of listening fans. Totally irresponsible.
