The Ottawa Senators and restricted free agent defenseman Erik Brannstrom have finally come to terms on a new deal.

According to an official announcement from the Ottawa Senators on Monday morning, Brannstrom and the Sens have come to terms on a one year bridge deal that will see the 23 year old Swede come in at a cap hit of $900,000 for the 2022 - 2023 National Hockey League regular season.

Brannstrom was, prior to this announcement, one of the few remaining RFAs still unsigned in the NHL but after appearing in 53 regular season games for the Senators last season it seemed highly unlikely that this would drag out past any significant dates like for example the start of training camp.

Brannstrom had no goals last season but did record 14 assists and finished the campaign with a plus minus rating of -17.

With Brannstrom now signed there are only 12 RFAs that are currently still unsigned across the league, and they are the following:

Barrett Hayton
- C (Arizona Coyotes)
Adam Ruzicka
- C (Calgary Flames)
Jason Robertson - LW (Dallas Stars)
Ryan McLeod
- C (Edmonton Oilers)
Michael Anderson
- LD (Los Angeles Kings)
Sean Durzi
- RD (Los Angeles Kings)
Cayden Primeau
- G (Montreal Canadiens)
Kirby Dach

Parker Wotherspoon

Alex Formenton

Rasmus Sandin
- LD (Toronto Maple Leafs)
Nic Hague
- LD (Vegas Golden Knights)
