I cannot be the only one missing Phil Kessel in the National Hockey League. this season. The veteran forward remains unsigned and last month, there were reports that Kessel is considering the possibility of playing some games in the Swiss league. However, when the Chicago Blackhawks announced on Wednesday morning that star rookie Connor Bedard had undergone surgery on his fractured jaw and was likely to miss six to eight weeks of action, questions quickly surfaced how which player would be sent in his place to the upcoming All-Star Game in Toronto. Bedard was named to the NHL All-Star roster on Thursday, a day before he sustained the upper-body injury, becoming the youngest player ever to be named to the team.

However now, someone else has to be sent to the event, and when the question was asked on social media on who the Blackhawks should name to represent the club, Matt Larkin of Daily Face-Off came out with the best answer possible, providing an epic proposal to not only get Chicago to sign free agent Kessel, but also send him to the All-Star weekend.

1. Sign Phil Kessel
2. Send Phil Kessel

I mean, I am so down for that! Kessel is a beloved player around the league and the fact that he could come in to replace the first overall pick would be hilarious, seeing that when he took part in the 2011 All-Star Game and its draft and was passed over until the final pick.

Kessel, who played in all 82 games with the Golden Knights last season, put up14 goals and 22 assists. He only played four games in the playoffs and the Knights would go on to capture their first Stanley Cup in franchise history, making it Kessel’s third championship in his career.

Selected fifth overall by the Boston Bruins in 2006, Kessel has played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, Arizona Coyotes and Golden Knights, recording 413 goals and 579 assists over 1,286 games.

Can we get more please?
