Here's a play I guarantee you've never seen in an NHL game: A linesman who was attempting to break up a fight ended up down and out with an apparent leg injury.
Check out this wild sequence from tonight's game between the Montreal Canadiens and Florida Panthers in which Canadiens defenseman Joel Edmundson earned himself a game misconduct penalty for a crosscheck, while the official ends up injuring himself in an attempt to break things up.
No word yet on the official's status. He appeared to either twist his leg or even cut his leg on a skate. Ugly stuff either way. Stay tuned for an update.
