One of the most exciting international hockey competitions of the year is finally here with the International Ice Hockey Federation's (IIHF) World Junior Championship officially getting underway on Monday.

There are a number of games on the schedule today beginning with Finland taking on Switzerland, followed by Sweden against Austria, which will in turn be followed by Latvia against the United States of America and last but not least Czechia against Canada for the final game of the day.

On Monday, former National Hockey League head coach and longtime voice of Coach's Corner, Don Cherry, sent a message to the young men who will be representing his home country of Canada at the tournament. Cherry offered them a few kind words through his social media, making no secret of who he will be rooting for later today.

"Good luck boys!," said Cherry
