Former Boston Bruins head coach and Hockey Night in Canada host mainstay Don Cherry has reacted to the passing of former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Bobby Baun by saying that the late blue liner taught him a valuable lesson.
"Sad to hear of the passing of Bobby Baun. In my rookie year in Hershey I was minding my own business watching a fight and Bobby came up behind me and put me in a choke hold. He taught me a big lesson that game. Always know who's on the ice. Godspeed Bobby."
Always knowing who is on the ice is one of the most important lessons for any young hockey player to learn, right up there with always keeping your head up.
