Dahlin and Krebs squash beef after fight in practice today

The two teammates tore it down and built it back up today.

In case you missed it earlier today, Buffalo Sabres teammates Rasmus Dahlin and Peyton Krebs got into a fight during practice after the two collided during an on-ice drill. Tensions boiled over after Dahlin appeared to lay an intentional 'low-bridge' style hip check on Krebs, to which Krebs took exception.

The pair jawed at each other for a moment and then dropped the gloves. They had to be separated by teammates on the ice.

Here's how it played out:

Neither player had anything to say to the media afterwards but Krebs posted on his Instagram story just a short while ago, indicating that the beef with his captain has been squashed.

From Krebs:

Smart move to kill this story as quickly as possible. With how poor things have gone with the Sabres to start the season, this is the last distraction they need.

The Buffalo Sabres have not had an ideal start to the 2024-25 National Hockey League regular season, going 1-2 to start the campaign after 2 straight losses, and it would appear as though the players on the Sabres roster are on edge.

On Monday morning, during a routine practice, tensions boiled over after teammates Peyton Krebs and Rasmus Dahlin collided on the ice. The contact appears to have been deliberate, with Dahlin delivering a low-bridge type of hit on Krebs in the open ice.

After the hit the two men would engage in a brief scuffle, with punches being thrown, although it did not last very long as teammates rush in to seperate the two men before any real damage could be done.

It is unclear at this time if there was anything else that may have led to this confrontation between the two men, although it did look like Dahlin, the Sabres captain, was looking to send a message with both the hit itself and the subsequent exchange of punches.

Both men could be heard jawing back and forth after they were seperated, so this will likely be an issue that the Sabres will have to deal with beyond this isolated incident.

Here is a look at the entire incident including the hit and the scuffle:

Update: Here is a clearer look at the aftermath of the hit as teammates rushed in to separate Dahlin and Krebs.
