Craig Berube snaps at his players on Saturday morning.
The head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs was not pleased with the effort he got from his players.
The Toronto Maple Leafs appear to have rubbed their head coach the wrong way on Saturday morning.
Reports have emerged from the Maple Leafs morning skate on Saturday that suggest Berube was fired up, or at least trying to get his group fired up, with reporters overhearing some fiery comments from Berube as he barked orders at his players.
"Let’s f**ing go!" yelled Berube according to reporters before adding "F***ing move the puck!" a few moments later.
You have to wonder how much of that has to do with the Maple Leafs' ugly loss at the hands of the Carolina Hurricanes this week, with the Leafs losing by a score of 6-3 against the playoff bound Hurricanes , and how much of it may have to do with the fact that the Maple Leafs have a big nationally televised matchup against Canadian rivals the Vancouver Canucks later tonight.
The Maple Leafs will once again be without the services of Jake McCabe who suffered a serious looking head injury last weekend, with Berube not offering a specific timeline for McCabe's return. Berube did however indicate that McCabe is doing well under the circumstances, but that won't mean much of anything without him back in the lineup.
Here is how the Maple Leafs lineup looked during today's morning skate, which is also tonight's presumed lineup for their clash against the Canucks:
Knies — Matthews — Marner
Pacioretty — Tavares — Nylander
McMann — Domi — Robertson
Dewar — Kampf — Lorentz
Ekman-Larsson — Tanev
Rielly — Myers
Benoit — Timmins
Stay tuned for more updates.
