It may be the offseason in the National Hockey League but that didn't prevent 'The Worm' from getting a little physical on Friday night.

NHL veteran and Edmonton Oilers forward Corey Perry was in attendance for this week's episode of the WWE's Friday night Smackdown, which conveniently took place in Edmonton, Alberta on Friday night. Although Perry was just there to enjoy the show as a fan, Perry would end up getting into a physical altercation with one of the wrestlers performing on the show.

The incident would occur after a pair of wrestler, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, decided to mock the hometown crowd when Waller came out sporting a Florida Panthers jersey. The move was clearly designed to taunt the Edmonton Oilers faithful in attendance, and it may very well have tickled Perry himself the wrong way as well.

Shortly after Perry was shown on screen, Theory and Waller would make their entrance sporting the Panthers' colors.

During the course of the match that would subsequently follow, the fight would make its way outside of the ring to where Perry was located, with Perry deciding to give Canadian wrestler Kevin Owens a helping hand in dealing with Theory and Waller.

Perry would grab Theory from behind once he got to close, giving Kevin Owens the opportunity to pummel his now defenseless opponent. Owens would do just that, hitting Theory with a slap so hard it could be heard throughout Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Perhaps Perry has found his new calling once he decides to hang up his skates.
