Corey Perry appears to attempt to injure JT Compher in Game 2.
Not a good look.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are being completely dominated by the Colorado Avalanche in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final and the frustration is clearly starting to show.
Perhaps there was no better example during the second period than an incident that occurred between Lightning forward Corey Perry and Avalanche forward JT Compher. The two men became tangled up in the latter stages of the second period which led to the two men battling one another in the crease, literally.
Both men ended up down on the ice with both refusing to let go, and even when a National Hockey League official tried to separate the two the two big bodies simply weren't moving. The reason this incident is garnering so much attention though is due to Perry's actions towards the end of it, actions that could be interpreted as an intent to injure or harm Compher.
As he was finally getting up off the ice, Perry could clearly be seen putting all of his weight on the back of Compher's leg. At the very least Perry was attempting to make the Avalanche forward very uncomfortable. Perry would even go a step further though and would plant his knee directly down on Compher's ankle as he was getting up, once again appearing to bring his full weight down on the Avalanche forward's isolated leg.
Thankfully, Compher appears to be none the worse for wear.
