Connor Bedard’s latest comments leads to wild trade rumour!

A frustrated Bedard has had enough and could push the Blackhawks to do something drastic about it. More details below:

There’s no other way to say it, Connor Bedard is sick of losing with the Chicago Blackhawks. After the 5-2 loss at the hands of the Calgary Flames on Monday, a frustrated Bedard opened up about his team’s ongoing struggles and it was easy to tell the kid has already had enough. Even though he had just reached 100 career NHL points at 19 years old.

“It’s really frustrating. We’re competitive athletes and we take a lot of pride in our games, our group as a team and our fan base. It’s been hard. It’s been a lot of games to lose. It weighs on you. Yeah, I mean, just trying to find a way of it, trying to get better every day. But it’s hard.”

“Right now, I couldn’t care less.” Bedard said when asked about the milestone. “Ask me in a couple of days and I’ll probably look at it a little different but just frustrated right now.”

His captain Nick Foligno obviously feels for the young superstar, telling reporters how he wishes the Blackhawks could be better for Bedard’s start to his NHL career.

“This isn’t the start of a career that I was hoping for him.”

The ongoing struggles in Chicago even led former NHL head coach and Sportsnet panelist Rick Bowness to suggest a significant trade scenario for the Blackhawks to consider. Speaking on Hockey Night in Canada over the weekend, Bowness proposed how the Hawks need to find Bedard’s own Leon Draisaitl as he argued that Oilers’ Connor McDavid always had that chance in Edmonton, while Bedard doesn’t have another star forward to play with.

But honestly, there are only two options for the Blackhawks to provide that to Bedard: either signing a high-end winger during free agency or trading for such a winger.

Some fans have raised the option of going after Canucks’ J.T. Miller or Elias Pettersson due to the wild trade rumours and ongoing feud in Vancouver, but that wouldn’t help Bedard seeing that they are both centers. There is the idea of going after pending free agent wingers that may be too expensive for their own clubs, hinting at Mikko Rantanen of the Colorado Avalanche or Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

These are only rumours for now but you have to agree that the Blackhawks must find Bedard a star-caliber teammate to unlock his full potential. And get him to feel less frustrated.
