Conflicting reports on the Jakob Chychrun trade.

Trade or no trade?

We have a pair of conflicting reports regarding a possible trade involving Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun.

Earlier today former National Hockey League player turned NHL analyst and radio host Nick Kypreos reported that he was hearing that Chychrun was on his way to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a package that would have been centered around one of the Kings' top prospects in defenseman Brandt Clarke.

Conflicting reports on the Jakob Chychrun trade.

While there was no reason to doubt Kypreos' reporting at the time, there is now some question about the legitimacy of his claims given a contradictory report from The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta.

According to Pagnotta, the Kings have reportedly informed Clarke that he has not been traded, which completely flies in the face of Kypreos' report. Obviously both men cannot be right here, but I will continue to bring you updates on this developing situation.

Update: The Athletic's Scott Wheeler is now joining Pagnotta in reporting that Clarke is not being traded by the Kings.

Update 2: Pagnotta sharing yet more information here, this time directly from Clarke's agent.
