Cole Caufield records his 20th goal of the season.
Goal Caufield strikes again.
The Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield has quite literally earned the nickname "Goal" with fans calling him Goal Caufield, and he rewarded them for that moniker on Saturday when he recorded his 20th goal of the 2022-23 National Hockey League regular season.
The goal came in the early moments of the second period of a game against the Washington Capitals, and it was created thanks in large part to a great play from Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki. Suzuki would fake a shot to create a huge opening for Caufield who was waiting in the opposite faceoff circle, and Caufield made it count and buried his 20th.
Update: Caufield now also has goal #21 on the season.
