Captain Quinn Hughes gets involved in Miller-Pettersson feud!

The Canucks star defenseman had gotten involved in the rift that has become a huge problem in the dressing room!

There are a lot of rumours and chatter on the drama around the Vancouver Canucks with the apparent feud between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson in the spotlight, and on Tuesday, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman shared more on the ongoing situation. While the team has attempted to put a lid on it and keep it away from media, it has only gotten worse with recent talks hinting that the two forwards could be on the move. Some may believe that the whole thing has been blown out of property, however, Friedman reported that not only has head coach Rick Tocchet has gotten involved, but so has captain Quinn Hughes. Friedman said on Sportsnet 590 The Fan on Thursday:

”Everybody knows Vancouver is open to listening, that they have already (both players)…but I think their preference is: ‘grow up and figure it out.’ What’s different now than weeks ago, is this has begun to spill over elsewhere into the Org. It’s bothering Tocchet and Hughes.”

Some insiders are starting to wonder if the toxicity in the dressing room might hamper the Canucks’ chances to go deep into the postseason. And I guess that’s why Hughes is getting involved not wanting something as petty to ruin the chances for Vancouver at a playoff run.

Miller and Pettersson might have extremely different personalities, but they are probably both perfectionists and looking for success. And so they should remember they are teammates and that they can’t win without each other.

After all, it could be a great thing that Hughes is getting involved as the captain and teammate of both, he can surely get some sense into them and find a way for both to move past this and be real teammates.
