Capitals brutally roast Maple Leafs after win on Saturday.
The Washington Capitals add insult to injury after their win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs suffered a tough loss on Saturday night at the hands of the Washington Capitals, one that I would argue that was due at least in part to a shaky performance from goaltender Matt Murray who was playing in just his second game of the season after coming back from serious injury complications.
That however didn't stop the Capitals from adding insult to injury following the conclusion of that game, with the Capitals social media team taking a pretty rough jab at the Leafs after what was in the end a fairly dominant 5-2 win for the Caps.
Following the game the Capitals social media team published a holiday themed video that was accompanied by the game's box score embedded above the video, a video that shows a very young child receiving a present for the holidays. That present comes in the form of a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey, one that is presumably meant to represent Auston Matthews given the "C" emblazoned on the front of that jersey. Unfortunately the young child in the video is not at all pleased with his new present, and instead of expressing any kind of joy the child breaks down into a full on tantrum at the sight of the Maple Leafs' colors.
The child begins to cry immediately upon seeing the Maple Leafs' logo at around the 2 second mark of the video and things only get worse from there. The child gets progressively more and more upset throughout the entire video which goes on for a total of 21 seconds before cutting off with the child clearly still crying at the sight of the Leafs jersey.
Here's a look at the post from the Capitals social media team:
It seems fairly unlikely that this kid is going to grow up to be a fan of the Maple Leafs.
