Brad Marchand felt confident prior to his Boston Bruins’ matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes. He might have even been a bit too cocky.
It all started when Canes’ Vincent Trocheck was asked hours before the contest that night if his game was similar to Brad Marchand’s. His answer? “Are you calling me a rat?”
This got to the ears of Marchand himself and the Bruins’ star player responded with a funny Photoshopped post on his Instagram account to explain how both he and Trocheck are nothing alike. He in fact referred to himself as a Lamborghini and compared Trocheck to a Prius.
However, the Bruins were dealt a humiliating 7-1 loss on Tuesday night, and right after the game, the social media team of the Hurricanes - we all know how blunt and brutal they can be.
This is what they posted on social media, with the mentions: “L stands for Lamborghini” and “Never seen a Prius total a Lambo before” above a footage of Trocheck checking Marchand:
Neither Marchand or Trocheck recorded a point in last night’s game, but the latter got the win, and his team made sure Marchand felt the pain of the loss and karma on his own words.
