The Boston Bruins continue to steamroll through the rest of the National Hockey League, enjoying by far the best record of any of the 32 clubs while also easily occupying the spot of odds-on favorite to be lifting the Stanley Cup later this year.
They've made a few additions that have already paid off to their lineup in acquiring defenseman Dmitry Orlov and forward Garnet Hathaway from the Washington Capitals; Orlov has already scored twice while adding an assist since coming over from the Caps.
But could Bruins president Cam Neely be looking to make even more reinforcements? According to his latest comments, don't be surprised to see it happen.
“I’m still very happy with our group and where we’re at,” he said. “We still have some time to maybe tinker. We’ll look at that. It’s a lot of gymnastics going on with the cap, but we did give ourselves the opportunity to add if we wanted to.”
As of right now, the Bruins don't have very much salary cap space remaining at exactly $325,000.
The NHL Trade Deadline is later this week on Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM EST. Would you like to see the Bruins make an additional depth move to further shore up their lineup, or would you rather them stand pat with what they have?
The Bruins are next in action tomorrow night against the visiting Buffalo Sabres at TD Garden in downtown Boston.
