Bruins’ McAvoy caught swearing at the ref in hot mic incident in front of entire arena

To day that Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy disagreed with the call is an understatement.

But hockey players are humans and so when the referee called a minor penalty on McAvoy, for roughing against Detroit Red Wings’ Filip Hornek in the last minutes of the first period, the blue liner was not happy.

As the official skated to center ice and turned on his microphone to announce the call, McAvoy made his way to the penalty box and swore at the referee: “Are you fucking kidding me?”

Unfortunately for McAvoy, the mic was on, the entire arena heard it as some parents probably rushed to cover their kids’ ears.

What’s funny is that the referee answering his question with a simple “no!”

The good thing for McAvoy is his team was perfect on the penalty kill. But he might want to make sure microphones are off when he starts swearing at the referee.
