The historic season for the Boston Bruins came to an absolutely stunning end this spring, as they lost their Round 1 series against the eventual Eastern Conference champion Florida Panthers in a heartbreaking setback that culminated in a Game 7 overtime loss at TD Garden.

Immediately afterward, speculation began to grow that it may have been the final NHL games for the likes of veteran forwards Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci; Bergeron embraced his teammates on the ice before saluting the fans, which many interpreted as his saying goodbye.

Meanwhile, Krejci's future in Boston also remains up in the air. He was lured back to the Bruins this summer after spending a year playing in his native homeland, and appeared in 70 games while racking up 16 goals and 40 assists.

Both players said that they were going to be taking their time in making a decision for next year, and as of Friday night, that decision making process remains in full swing. Both Krejci and Bergeron remain on the open market with a handful of other veteran players on the back ends of their careers, including the likes of Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.

The Bruins have already lost scrappy forward Tyler Bertuzzi, who agreed to a one year contract with the rival Toronto Maple Leafs, while Dmitri Orlov isn't expected to return next season. Additionally, they've already shipped both Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno to the Chicago Blackhawks.
