Bruins’ David Pastrnak getting kicked when he’s already down…

That’s just a terrible look. Mistakes happen, but this one had to hurt.

Chris Gosselin

Boston Bruins star forward Pastrnak is fulfilling his late father Milan’s dream of his son playing hockey at the highest level. Before Pastrnak became an icon in Boston, signing a massive eight-year, $90M contract expires at the end of the 2030-31 season, his father tragically passed away in May 2013 due to skin cancer. While it broke Pastrnak, it also pushed him to practice harder and push himself further to achieve his father’s dream.

In the new Amazon Prime series Faceoff, Pastrnak is one of the player that holds a star role and at one point, he speaks about his father and his impact on his career and hockey dream.

However, Amazon failed to find a correct picture of Milan Pastrnak and when David emotionnally speaks about his dad, it is a picture of Jiří Dopita, a famous player in Czechia, that appears in the segment. The mistake made headlines in Czechia with reporter Pavel Barta writing about it and commenting his article on X with the caption (translated from Czech):

“An ambitious documentary about NHL stars did not start very well. At times, the consistent creators got a little lost.”

The mistake hence went viral on different social media platforms, with fans hoping David Pastrnak hadn’t watched the documentary.

While I know that Pastrnak does not need a picture of his own father to keep his memory alive, it is simply unfortunate and sad to see that he could not be featured correctly in a documentary that follows his son around and praised his play.

Though I am sure, without a doubt, David Pastrnak’s father is very proud of his son’s career accomplishments to date.
