Placed on waivers yesterday by the Detroit Red Wings, forward David Booth has officially cleared but will remain with the team. It was expected that the 32-year-old would report to the team’s AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, but according to Red Wings insider Helene St. James, Booth will stick with the Wings.
The Detroit native has played just four games for the Wings so far this season going pointless along the way. A surprise training camp invite this offseason, Booth worked his way onto the team’s main roster and earned a one-year contract on the eve of the NHL’s regular season.
It’s unclear exactly what the Booth’s future with the team is right now, but don’t be surprised if an injury opens up a spot for him in the lineup once again.
