A few familiar names, a few talented kids… any big surprises here?

During the first intermission of today’s 2018 Winter Classic between the Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers, USA Hockey officially unveiled their roster for the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
With the NHL and the IOC unable to come to an agreement for this year’s games USA’s roster is filled mostly with former NHLers who have been plying their trade in Europe or Russia. Check out the official roster below:
Brian Gionta, Matt Gilroy, James Wisniewski… there are a few familiar names. But… let’s be honest, this is not pretty. With no NHLers on the roster, the level of hockey at this year’s Olympics is going to be sub par, at best.
