Blackhawks announce goaltending transactions
There's been a shakeup in the crease.

The Chicago Blackhawks are certainly doing a bit better than most fans and pundits had predicted so far in the young 2022-23 NHL Season, hovering right around the .500 mark with a 5-5-2 record through the first 12 games. Captain Jonathan Toews has enjoyed a comeback campaign thus far, having lit the lamp seven times and currently ranked second on the team in points behind longtime teammate Patrick Kane with 10.
However, if Chicago has any intention of breaking their postseason drought, they'll need more consistent performances in the crease in terms of play on the ice and health. Goaltender Petr Mrazek was felled by a lower body injury last month and placed on IR, but he's slated to make his return to action in short order. The team has activated him off the IR list, but conversely has placed goaltender Alex Stalock on that list in Mrazek's place.
Stalock currently has a 2.93 goals against average along with a 3-2-1 record in his first season in the Windy City. In Mrazek's absence, the team brought up the young Arvid Soderblom, who is 1-2-1 with a 2.77 goals against average. He'll continue his role as backup for the time being.
Chicago is next in action against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night at Crypto.com Arena.
